Plainsmen Swing Hot Bats in Garden City
[BORGER – February 15, 2022]
The Plainsmen traveled up to Garden City, KS to take on the Broncbusters in a single 9 inning game.
The Plainsmen seemed to be enjoying the warm weather this week as the bats they were swinging had no cold hitting in them helping the Plainsmen score 7 runs in the first 2 innings. If the plainsmen weren’t hitting the ball, they still got on base by drawing 9 walks against the Broncbusters pitching staff. There were only 2 innings where the Plainsmen did not score. The Plainsmen pitching staff seemed to be on point today as they only gave up 4 walks and were able to strikeout 11.
The Plainsmen had 2 players drive in 4 RBIs in Meyers and Scull. Scull (2) and Bonstrom showed both power and speed in getting 3 triples for the Plainsmen. Zalewski added 5 hits going 5-6. Corbin Lingo was the stater going 3 innings and only giving up 2 runs with 4 Ks. Jake Thielen added 3 strikeouts in the 9th inning to finish the game.
