Gabe Castillo enters his first season as Head Softball Coach at Frank Phillips College, bringing over 20 years of coaching experience and a proven record of success at both the high school and elite travel ball levels. Known for his strong leadership, competitive spirit, and passion for mentoring student-athletes, Castillo is focused on building Frank Phillips College into a high-level competitive program that is centered on discipline, player development, and a team-first culture.

Before joining Frank Phillips, Castillo spent nine seasons as the Head Softball Coach at Summer Creek High School in Houston, Texas, where he guided the program to seven consecutive playoff appearances and captured District Championships in 2019 and 2025, along with District Coach of the Year honors in both championship seasons.

In addition to his high school success, Castillo coached with Impact Gold, one of the nation’s top fastpitch travel ball organizations. There, he worked with elite-level talent and helped these athletes earn collegiate scholarships through high-level national competition.

With a foundation built on fundamentals, accountability, and team culture, Coach Castillo brings a vision of excellence to Frank Phillips College softball—both on and off the field. He emphasizes academic performance, personal growth, and a relentless work ethic in every aspect of the program.

Off the field, he is a proud husband to Veronica and father to two children, Derika and Adan. His family-centered values are reflected in his coaching style and his commitment to shaping strong, confident young women through the game of softball.
