The Lady Plainsmen softball team turned in an impressive weekend performance, sweeping El Paso College in a four-game series behind consistent offense and clutch late-game execution. The Lady Plainsmen set the tone early on Friday, securing a dominant 10-2 victory in game one. Their bats stayed hot throughout the day, and despite a much tighter contest in game two, they battled through adversity to edge out a 10-9 win and complete the day-one sweep.
Saturday, the Lady Plainsmen showed the same resilience. In the first game, the Lady Plainsmen controlled the pace and used timely hitting along with solid defense to earn a 9-4 victory. The final game of the series proved to be another thriller, as both teams fought hard down to the final inning. Once again, Frank Phillips found a way to come out on top, holding off El Paso College for a narrow 10-9 win to complete the four-game sweep.
Across the weekend, the Lady Plainsmen showcased their offensive depth, scoring 39 total runs in four games. More importantly, they demonstrated grit in close matchups, winning two one-run games that could have gone either way. With this sweep, the Lady Plainsmen continue to build momentum and confidence as they move forward in conference play.
